Compugeeks: Asus, Abit, or MSI?
I'd say Asus or Abit, though I'd learn toward Asus despite having back experiences with their A7V133 motherboard...

Recently bought a A7V8X-X mobo and more recently an Abit NF7 (though if the mobo isn't rev 2.0, it gets returned)

Which do you prefer?

1. Hey, that new Epox motherboard...
With the Nforce2/Gforce 4 integrated graphics and the 400mhz bus is a real bad boy and leaves a trail of happy campers behind it. Uses the Athlon, too, which is A Very Good Thing.

2. MSI
Had very good experiences with MSI lately. My last ASUS board was a real letdown (those before that were excellent).

3. I generally buy Asus
I know they have had a few dogs, but who hasn't?

The machine I'm composing this on has an A7V333 board, and I am very happy with it.

4. I like Asus, but....
I have had Epox motherboards in my last 2 computers (Athlon Thunderbird 850 and P4 1.6a) and both worked flawlessly.

In fact this post is being sent to you thru an Epox mobo. ;)

5. Don't know about MBs, but I had an ASUS laptop.
It was actually pretty sweet.

6. Normally I go with ABit
But I am running this system on a SOYO KT400 Dragon Ultra. Got another system running on an MSI. And one of the older systems is an ABit.

Abit and ASus are both good geek boards. Lots of bells and whistles. Particularly good for clocking.
