'Days Of Our Lives' Star Busted For Marijuana Pipe At Airport

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A soap opera star found himself in a real-life drama Monday morning.

Police arrested Jason Cook, star of "Days Of Our Lives," at the Des Moines International Airport at about 6 a.m. Monday. Cook plays Shawn D. Brady on the daytime soap.

Police said he was arrested when he tried to board a flight. He was charged in connection with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is accused of carrying a marijuana pipe, according to KCCI-TV in Des Moines. He was released from jail after posting $650 bond.

Cook was in Des Moines taking part in the Variety Club telethon that wrapped up at 6 p.m. Sunday. He was scheduled to depart on United flight 459.

...the police were able to classify my cigarette lighter as paraphernalia because they said it would assist in the using of drugs. Under that elastic standard, virtually anything in the world could be interpreted as some type of delivery device. Incredible but true. And the charges stuck. :wtf:

The Days of Our Lives actor was arrested at the Des Moines International Airport at about 6 a.m. Monday on charges of public intoxication and drug paraphernalia. He was in Des Moines over the weekend for the 31st annual Variety Club telethon. "Jason appeared to be intoxicated, showing signs as bloodshot watery eyes, argumentative behaviour, inability to follow instructions and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage," a police report said.

My last trip back to CA I had my checked bag inspected by TSA there and back again. They found a cig lighter in my checked bag on the way back and took it. I had hidden it pretty well in my bag; left in a pant pocket. They go thru your bag and belongings with a fine toothed comb.
