In San Francisco, what should I do or eat?
I'm in SF for the next few days. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can eat(local restaraunt)? How bout local sites to see?

Thanks.

7. Was out by the Zoo,
but I think it closed.

My favorites - for business lunches -- Tadisch on California Ave, Scoma's just below Ghiradelli Square, practically anything in China Town, Little Italy (the northern edge of China Town), the Financial District, out Geary, out California, practically anything in the Marina. Another idea - hop on the "N-Judah" light rail - some neat places from just past UCSF (Parnassus Heights) all the way to the Ocean.

We tend to go to the various places on University Ave in Palo Alto and to the places in Stanford Plaza(on the North East Corner of the Stanford campus on El Camino Real at the Menlo Park-Palo Alto line).

4. eat at any one of the ten-thousand hole-in-the-wall chinese places
just about all of them are great.

I used to eat at a place down on Divisidero... a couple blocks down from Scott St., I think.. it's been awhile, though. :hippie:

6. some of my faves

Lemongrass- Thai food, really tasty and not so expensive, just south of Ghiradelli Square I think
The Stinking Rose- you better like garlic! Short North
Zarzuela- Spanish, authentic paella, really good. near lemongrass (this is my dh's absolute favorite)
Mona Lisa's- Italian - in Little Italy

if you have time, pop over to Napa Valley and eat at Mustards or Brix, both are fantastic. It's only about an hour away by car, less if traffic cooperates.

10. Visit the Legion of Honor
http://www.thinker.org/legion/visiting/index.asp

San Francisco's most beautiful public museum is located in Lincoln Park near 34th Avenue and Clement Street.

Have lunch in their garden terrace, it's simply beautiful.

Maybe knock around the Ferry Bldg. at lunch time, grazing at the goodies for lunch. Also Little Joe's in North Beach, for Italian.

Of course, a Ferry ride across the Bay to Jack London Square, for a walk around Oakland's underrated Chinatown, wouldn't be bad, either!

11. Tadich Grill for the Cioppino
And then pop over across the bay Sausalito to The Spinnaker for their marvelous Crab Louis (a great lunch) and a nice view of S.F.

13. Remember to put some pretty flowers in your hair.............
If you’re going to San Francisco

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

If you’re going to San Francisco

You’re gonna meet some gentle people there

For those who come to San Francisco

Summertime will be a love-in there

In the streets of San Francisco

Gentle people with flowers in their hair

All across the nation,

such a strange vibration

People in motion

There’s a whole generation,

with a new explanation

People in motion, people in motion

For those who come to San Francisco

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

If you come to San Francisco

Summertime will be a love-in there

If you come to San Francisco

Summertime will be a love-in there

14. Go to the Tai Chi Restaurant
at 2031 Polk Street for the General Tsou's chicken. Incredible.

If you want something fancy, Boulevard and Farallon's are both quite nice, but pricey.

Go just about anywhere in the Mission for a burrito.

Enjoy!
