I mean come on...The Yanks have got one of the dirtiest B-Ball players in the league in Rodger Clemens... It wasn't to long ago that he threw a jagged broken Bat towards M. Piazza..

And I gotta say this stuff about throwing the er..beloved Don Zimmer on his face has me LMAO! How easy we forget that Zim is one of the biggest Temper Tantrum Coaches the league has ever seen....

2. The Boston Police are, not the Sox
Jeff Nelson took exception to a Fenway employee cheering for the Sox while working in the Yankee Bullpen. I can understand him being annoyed slightly, but not to the point where he needed to confront the employee. As far as Zim goes, why oh why did he have to charge Pedro. Pedro did not seek Zim out. HE was in a no-win situation when Zim charged him.

3. The Yankess think they're Republicans--they're above the law
Zimmer has a temper and is a hot-head, but now that he's 72 years-old, he can get away with it.

Once a child, always a child.

6. This is funny
Reading the whining posts of Red Sox fans.

Has it finally started to sink in yet again? Are you guys cryin cause you see the writing on the wall? Your Ace got beat, the pressure is on, and we all know how the Bosox respond to pressure.

I especially like the comment about the Yankees being like Republicans, what a horrible, desperate smear.

Face it Sox fans you have little to no chance to beat the Yankees. But look at the bright side you can still wallow in the pathetic annual ritual of Red Sox self doubt and loathing that has become as much a part of Baseball as the DH rule.

Right here!

Cold and hard facts:

1918
Ruth for 100,000 dollars
26
Bill Buckner
Bucky Dent

And since this is a progressive/liberal message board:
RedSox the LAST team to integrate.

4. I guess that Fenway employee who was beaten up by the 6'8" Jeff Nelson
deserved to get pummeled. :eyes:

The indignation on the part of the Yankees fans is ludicrous. I was at the game and had an excellent view of Zimmer going after Pedro, and Garcia cleting Walker.

Yes, those Yankees are a CLASSY dynasty.

Folks, this is an old-fashioned rivalry. Things get ugly.

5. Yeah remember Garcia cleating Walker
Karim Garcia slid at least five feet past the second base bag to try and take out Walker. No one seems to be pointing that out. The Yankees were blameless in all of this according to some.

9. When?
March 18, 1920.

The Yankees have been overpampered crybabies for as far back as anyone can remember. And baseball's ruling bodies love it that way, because they think it increases fan interest to feed the New York franchise. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a crucial call go against the Yankees? Whether it's Reggie Jackson knocking down a relay throw in the World Series, a fan interfering with a batted ball on the field of play, or Don Zimmer attacking the opposing team's pitcher, the Yankees always benefit from the close call.

Any other coach in the league would have been summarily tossed for Zimmer's antics, without question. But because he wears those pinstripes, the league office will probably fine or suspend the player for throwing the stupid old hack to the ground, and Zim spent the rest of the game in the dugout.

Then New York had the nerve to talk about an atmosphere of lawlessness at Fenway! Yeah, and the biggest offender was sitting on the Yankee bench.

10. I was at Yankee stadium in 2000-the fans threw BATTERIES
at the Mets.

I was at Fenway yesterday. There was tension, but no one was misbehaving in our section-and we were RIGHT BEHIND the Yankee dugout. My nephew was in the belacher and he was surrounded by rowdies-but the bleachers are known for that.

12. Oh, for god's sake
What DIDN'T Red Sox fans throw at the Yankees in the 1999 ALCS? The Yankee players had to be taken off the field for their own safety. And when this series ends (tomorrow, in all likelihood), we'll see which city has the riots.

11. Where have you been? The Yankees are the darlings of sports media
And they know it too. They get away with crap like that all the time and no one holds them accountable.

Jeremy Giambi was safe! but you will never see the replay from down the first base line EVER again in this hemisphere.

It was so stunning that even Buck and McCarver couldn't spin it away.
