RaptureLetters.Com ... Is This For Real? Or Is It A Parody?
Or just a scam to get money. I can't imagine that he'd get much more than beer-money out of this operation... but then again... it's difficult to be certain.

The rapture: When all the believers in Jesus Christ, who have been born again, are taken up to heaven.

After the rapture, there will be a lot of speculation as to why millions of people have just disappeared. Unfortunately, after the rapture, only non believers will be left to come up with answers. You probably have family and friends that you have witnessed to and they just won't listen. After the rapture they probably will, but who will tell them?

We have written a computer program to do just that. It will send an Electronic Message (e-mail) to whomever you want after the rapture has taken place, and you and I have been taken to heaven.

How is this accomplished, you might ask. It's a dead man switch that will automatically send the emails when it is not reset.

3. And if the "deadman switch" accidently doesn't get reset?
Or other computer malfunction. Sooner or later - those emails will get sent.

BTW - I believe in the rapture, but I see this as a silly precaution.

8. It will also be hilarious to see who gets the letters. Obviously the
people on "the list" are people you think are not going to make the "cut" for the big meeting in the sky. Quite a presumption for one person to make. And one I am not willing to make, even if I believed in the Rapture, which I don't.

11. Did you see the Daily Show segment on this?
Ed Helms said something similar. He goes, "You should put a disclaimer on it that says 'if you're receiving this, I have been raptured...or trapped under something heavy.'" :D

4. What's the point in being raptured if you can't be smug about it?
The idea of sending everyone a "Nelson Ha-Ha" after you get swept up into heaven is obnoxious to the extreme.

12. Wasn't Pride one of the "seven deadly sins"
Of course, they aren't spelled out in the bible, right? Just the 10 "Thou shalt nots . . ."

6. The dubious theology of the "Rapture" is only out done by the dubious
theology of the "Left Behind" series, imo.

Somebody should start a service for that.

10. or hack into that site
and send out a letter stating "The rapture has occurred and it turns out you were wrong all along and were not a chosen one. For your life of greed, bigotry, & warmongering you have earned eternal damnation. Have a nice day."

13. The rapture could be interesting
a bunch of Republicans standing around wondering where all the "evil liberals" went to . . . nobody to blame society's ills on except themselves . . .

15. I just read the letter that they want to send.
A sample:

"If you just prayed that prayer and meant it with all your heart, then God will know you as one of His own. You should now seek out others who have also given their lives to Christ, read a Bible daily, and do your best to bring others to Christ."

Read "a Bible" daily??? The whole fucking thing? Different ones?
