It's official--- we have crocuses!
I almost didn't see the little fellers at first, until the sun caught one of the yellow ones. Can spring be far off?

:D

1. It's gonna reach a high of 27 in Chicago on the first day of....
meterological spring. My crocuses aren't even showing...though the daffodils are very close to the house.

:(

5. Me too.
I didn't even notice what they were until a friend of mine told me what they were as we were going out to the garage. He told me they're a sign that spring is coming, and I was like "Sweet!" I can't wait till summer.

6. in illinois?!
you have crocuses blooming in illinois?!?!?! wow!

i'm in northern new mexico, which is a zone 5 at 7,500' elevation. i have a sunny south facing spot that supports zone 6 plants, like yuccas. there is a clump of daffodils against the wall, and in the middle of february, i noticed they started coming up. they are about 4" now!

yes, spring is just around the corner.......

15. that is so exciting!
i've been aching to see some green and get in the garden. it wasn't a cold winter, but it was very wet, which is fine. we are finally out of a drought! this year, though, i have really been missing my garden. soon. very soon......

9. I have lots of crocus! and the buds are swelling on my daffodils.
I love spring! I'm planting lettuce, and sugar snap peas on March 17, in a raised bed.

...early bachelor's buttons, blue asters, buds on my Dianthis, and my rosemary and lavendar are both beginning to bloom. 'Course I've already started mowing the lawn....

on edit-- I'm at 45 degrees north latitude, about the same latitude as central Pennsylvania, but I'm only a couple of miles from the Pacific.

16. my daffodils are about shot, as are the hyacinths, but the
daylilies are starting to pop up, iris are spreading their fans, and lots of the bulbs I planted last fall are starting to just poke through the soil.

I bought these things called blood lilies and I have no idea what they will look like, so I am anxiously awaiting.
