I make a point of never loaning money that I may want back. I'm not a bank, and I don't want to take legal measures against friends/family. When I loan it, I consider it gone. If it comes back, that's a bonus.

Now, I agree, her bad for walking off the job when she has obligations. However, if the job was hazardous or the workplace seriously abusive, I'd find it hard to criticize the move. But if the work was ok and she just didn't feel like it any more, that's different.

By the way, where was she working? I could use a job myself. :)
