Could someone recommend a nice, little, ripper
that I can download so I can convert my CDs to MP3? This is one of those cases where word of mouth is better than google. :-)

is a great ripper, CD burning program, and manager for your library

Yes it runs on windows
Yes it rips into many file formats - mp3, wav, aiff, aac, lossless, blah blah blah
Yes it is free
Yes you can burn audio CDs of your playlists
No you don't need an ipod

ON EDIT: PLUS -- you can keep your library on one computer in your house and stream it to the others in your house -- media serving built in. . .way cool
