Report: Queen 'Livid' at Wedding Venue Change

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is "livid" at plans to conduct the April 8 civil wedding of Prince Charles and longtime partner Camilla Parker Bowles at a town hall.

The couple were to have wed at Windsor Castle, the royal family's weekend retreat west of London, but then switched venue to the Guildhall in Windsor -- used for local council meetings and other public gatherings.

"The queen believes that by having the service in the local town hall, the last vestige of the mystery of monarchy will be smashed forever," an unidentified source was quoted as saying in Friday's edition of the Sun newspaper.

2. My take on it
Prince Charles wants to give his Mum a fatal heart attack so he can finally get the throne.

5. I grew up in Windsor. Lived on "Crown Property" as a matter of fact.
Guildhall is literally two "blocks" from Windsor Castle. It's a lovely old building (17th century, IIRC) in its own right, where commoners get married, week in, week out.

Good on ya', Charlie. Stick it to that delusional bitch.

6. Heh heh I love these threads
Every once in a while, you get some reprieve over all the gloom and doom here at the DU.

I love these cause I get to laugh sarcastically. Evil snicker. This upcoming wedding promises to be great fun. Lots of near-heart attacks over the upcoming nuptials. I'm sure there will be many, many arguments and brawls about who's deciding what.

Mum will be sore for weeks, might even threaten to be a "no-show" because Camilla will want to make most of the decisions. There will be threats over how the napkins should be folded on the table. Huge brawls will erupt over which color the punch should be.

And not much will be accomplished, other than this "royal" family will hang out its dirty laundry, once again.

(evil snicker).
