What do you remember of your first date?
The reason being I guess tonite's my first one. I wasn't going to goto homecoming, but then I got asked so now I am!

It's a bit funny, though. While my dad's pretty liberal on most subjects, when it comes to me dating, he turns into some super protective dad from the 50s. And the thing is, I know he's gonna totally wierd my date out. But then, that's just my dad, i guess :)

Ive never had a date in my life  but hae a good time. Did you guys win your game today? We did and we are 5-0 and at the next game I want to have a sign that says:
WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET RANKED POST?
You see the Washington post despite the fact we are kicking ass hasnt even ranked us the bastards. Have a good time as wil I.

4. Oh, right
Well, Brandon (my date) took me to that and we lost like 26 to 38. We played the Eden Prarie team. Those guys were legends, I'll bet Derek prolly even heard of them (maybe) They were the top team in the state, but last year we beat by 1 point. Sweet

5. oh them
Tough but at least you beat them last year. Well next week we got a big challenge too: The Robinson Rams :puke:, bastards been beating up on us since I was in your grade, and before I bet too. I bet he has heard of them. You two are as far away as this school we killed today West Potomac I suppose. 5-0 already equal to their best when I have been there and better than last year. I gotta admit I was cynical intially looking at that schedule but basketball we are gonna kick ass and I may have a job on the team like for stats.

7. First date...
Seriously, be yourself. Say what you think (unless Miss Manners would frown if you did so, like "Is that a beard or is your chin dirty?" Better not to say that one). Long silences are not necessarily a bad thing. Behave friendly and interested. A date is not any different than spending time with this guy for a few hours after school or like that. It's just that you set it up in advance.

I grew up in NYC so I have no idea about homecomings or whatever. I assume it's like a big party/dance with schoolteachers and the like there? Real food, or just sodas? 20 people there, or like 100 people?

Hope this helps :-) Have a great time!

9. I Can't Imagine You Losing At Anything
You ask for help and advice before you make a major decision?

You're smart enough to know what you don't know and ask for advice.

That alone puts you in the upper 2% of the population who bother themselves to ask "Why?'

The "Losers" are the guys your age that don't know the difference between their hormones and what you can contribute to a future that includes everyone.

That's why I'm I'm a Dem....

12. My first date was a homecoming dance 1986
I was a freshman and so was he. Ahhh, Garrett, was his name. I remember him well 6'2" brown hair, blue eyes, just adorable. We spent the evening dancing and sneaking out to kiss on the hallway stairs- my first big juicy, kisses.

13. As my dad said about my sister's boyfriends
"I don't care if they respect me, as long as they FEAR me!"

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but be wary until you know him better.

As for my first date, I remember the crazy father and stuff. What really sticks out is that I have no idea where I went to dinner. But I saw a movie and ended up holding hands throughout. That was it...then I dropped her off, went and got shattered with my buddies and lied about how I scored.

I Made the last bit up.

19. My first date was terrific at the time,
but when I look back on it, I never would have gone. My first date turned out to be with the person who would abuse me for the next four years. Sorry to tell a sad story at such a happy time for you. I really do hope you have lots of fun!

21. All dads are like that,
pretty much.
As has been said here, we remember when we were young and the hormones were raging.
I honestly can't remember my first date. The first boy-girl situation I can remember is a dance party at a neighbor girl's house. Might have been her birthday party. We had some kind of punch and cake and danced to 45 RPM records. Mostly slow stuff, this was on the eve of rock and roll. I was probably around 13 or 14. A very dangerous time. ;-)
My mom taught me how to do a rudimentary two-step beforehand. It was the first time I had my arms around a girl, and it was a pretty heady experience.

Try and work the conversation around to his favorite subject: HIM.
Hope you have fun and it's a good experience.
Tell your dad I feel for him.
:-)

22. hey breezy lemme tell you about my night
and you can do the same for me.
I got to the school at about 8. I talked to this kid whos your age in my spanish class briefly. Then I went inside and I talked to a kid a grade younger than me who lives in the neighborhood also briefly. Then it went a little slow honestly. Then my friend who was on the homecoming court and another friend, the three of us have known each other since grade school. So you know we talk it up, my friend on the court actually didnt have a date you see his g/f and before then I had no idea he had one goes to a different school, so we all talked and with other people. I talked to my one friend's date and we remembered each other from 8th grade english. So my friend without a date decided he wanted to dance with some girls, I realized what the hell, so I start "dancing" and the some more girls took notice and my friends are friends with these girls, I know them from elementary, I have friends on all sides acutally. So basically I did a bit of dancing, my "dance move" which I called the leprecaun because it looked a little Irish I think, and raising the roof lol. It was a night to remember imo. I still do feel embarassed about not being able to drive and to a lesser degree being without a cellphone, I dont care about the latter though, its just that everyone seems to have one.

Girlfriend's Dad: So you're Colin. How're you doing?
Me: Yes, sir.

Then we went to go see Monsters, Inc. It was nice.

In fact my friend who goes to Catholic school was right it is better off without one. His was last week and he had one, and we talked on friday night and he said it would be even better without one. I thought so. lol I think most people were suprised to see me, I am pretty shy and timid in school but once I got on the floor lol I wasnt so.

27. Let's see
My first date was when I met the girl on a school trip to Paris. We took a boat ride down the seine (off to the side of the rest of the group). Then it was up to the top of the eiffel tower at night where we talked and laughed and I leaned in and asked "Would you mind terribly if I gave you a kiss" (my first!).

Our first official date was the week after we got back from the trip. We took a sunset walk along the Canal through the local park. Then we went out to a Greek Restaurant for dinner, and then over to the local coffeeshop. Then we retired to her place (she was 18 and living on her own, I was 15) for some kissing before I went home
