The headache left me!!! I had it for FOUR DAYS!!! It's gone!!!
I'm so excited and happy I don't even want to move too quickly for fear of, I don't know, jostling it back.

It was a sinus headache that morphed into a classic migraine after the first two days. No meds, not even prescription, helped.

It got so bad last night I got off DU at 7 pm (and you know THAT'S just crazy!!!), and took to my bed. MY SKIN HURT. My right EYEBALL hurt. I felt like I was going to vomit. MOVING hurt. Talking hurt. Light hurt. Being alive hurt. Breathing hurt.

Finally, after a nice big shot of Nyquil, I fell asleep. I was a walking cocktail of drugs at that point.

Now, I hope typing and posting this doesn't jinx me. Please please please don't come back.

Anyone else here have the loveliness of horrible headaches that make you want to get someone to take a rubber mallet to your head?

1. I used to get migraines when I was a child.
It was a stressful time. When I got older I'd only get them if I drank sherry or port so I don't touch those anymore. If I ever had a headache for four days I'd go out of my mind. I'd probably try to make it to the emergency room but I'm sure the trip would be excruciating.

5. I was ::this close:: to going to the doctor.
Because it was just SO bad and had lasted so long. It only left about two hours ago, so I'm still hoping it stays gone.

2. Yes, it's going around
I had it yesterday from the cold after the last few days. The only thing that helps is sleep for me. That's because I wake at night every 4 hours to blow my stuffy nose.

3. A few times a year
I get killer zingers and all I can do is shut down every source of light and noise and try to sleep it off.

I've never had a four-day whopper though! Glad you're over that!

9. The longest one I ever had was in college.
It lasted nine days. I was ready for someone to shoot me. I went to the student health center, where the average wait to see a doctor was around SEVEN HOURS. I'm not kidding.

The doctor gave me a shot of something (I didn't even care to ask what it was), gave me samples of some migraine medication and sent me home.

I got into my darkened bedroom and slept for the next 18 hours. When I woke up, it was gone. The thing that really sucked was it was during finals!!!

4. Yeah! Thanks...you gave it to me!
Glad you are feeling better, but I have been wrestling with it since yesterday afternoon.

I also had to try to the nyquil trick after all the other drug methods just bounced off it.

7. I think it was a delayed reaction from Thursday's events
We are all lucky we don't have a migraine for the next four years as distressed as we all are.

10. Well, it did start on Friday morning.
I'll always associate the coronation day with the beginning of one of the most painful headaches I've ever had!

11. What a load of shit.
The police officer will probably use the word "fuck" as an EXCUSE for harrassing her.

I'd just like to SEE someone try to arrest me for my bumper stickers. (Though I don't have any swear words on mine, my feelings are pretty well known when you look at my car!!)

14. He is safely ensconsed in an Army hospital in Germany
and we have even talked to him on the phone!! He was kinda drugged up, though. Slurring and stuff, but he sounded fairly happy.

No word yet on when he will come home or what's happening with him. I know he is supposed to go to Walter Reed to get physical therapy as soon as he is able.

Thanks! :hi:

(It's such a relief to think he's not in Iraq!!!)

15. good to hear
I have headaches (don't know if they are migraines but they hurt like hell) sometimes that last three days. Once I was at a staff meeting in another city and couldn't leave. It was all I could do to sit and listen to the presentations. I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep even and nothing helped. Well I didn't try tequila but I guess I would still have had a headache if I had drunk tequila but I probably wouldn't have cared!

16. Yep, no appetite at all.
I had a yogurt for dinner last night, and only because I had to have something in my stomach or the medicine would be irritating.

And you're tired, but can't sleep because of the pain until you are just exhausted to the point of collapsing.

I can't think of many things that suck more. I wanted to cry, but crying hurts, too.

17. I get migraines so bad that I want someone to drill a hole in my temple
to relieve the pressure. I was taking Imitrex, but with no health coverage, that is out of the question now. ($100 a pop!!)
I take Extra Strength Benedryl for Sinus Headaches, some black coffee, and go to sleep, since the Benedryl totally knocks me out. When I wake up, if I still have the headache, I do it again. Repeat until headache is gone or until I die. :D

18. Yep.
You definitely are speaking from experience. Sounds exactly like what I do, except I use Diet Cokes.

I get so bad. Last night I was actually whimpering at my husband "MAKE IT GO AWAY."

And I'm not normally much of a wimp when it comes to pain. But four days of it, nonstop, does tend to wear a person down.

When I woke up and still had it this morning, I just said every cuss word I know.
