Least favorite cable channel you have (besides FAUX NEWS)
I thought that FAUX NEWS would be the runaway winner if I included it. I'll say CNN because I think they have gotten as bad as FAUX while hiding it better.

3. I'm fed up with the "barge in and improve someone's home" channels.
Even the blasted Discovery Channel is doing it, along with build/fix a car/motorcycle shows.

5. Yeah...what the fuck? The only thing I am discovering from the Discovery
Channel is how to become the worst designer ever.

How about some fucking SCIENCE like astronomy, biology, zoology, physics, etc...??????

8. Know what you mean.
TLC use to show stuff like:

A Baby's World (I liked this special )
and the variants dealing with dogs and cats.

And what has happened to the Travel Channel aka the Vegas Channel ?

I miss Lonely Planet.

working class Christians that voting for greater corporate power is something Jesus wants them to do.

This is also a good place to give this heads up: RevMoon's GoodLife TV network is changing its name to AmericanLife TV in March.

6. I despise Lifetime
and I'm a woman! I can't think of a single female friend I have that would watch that drivel.

Maybe it's television for women who're still living in the 50s

Or television for women who're friends of John Ashcroft's wife.

Anyway you look at it: Major Ick factor.

10. I call it Queen for a Day TV.
In the 50's there was a show called Queen for a Day, and woman came out on stage and told their sordid tales to an audience. The one who scored highest on the applause-o-meter won prizes. I watch Lifetime for the Golden Girls.

11. I second the Lifetime motion!
I have no idea how it gets any ratings. I like a couple of shows on Oxygen, especially that practical joke show, Girls Behaving Badly. They do some risque stuff on there, suprised they get away with some of it.

Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 04:36 PM by JonathanChance
Ugh, every time I see even an atosecond of their programming I feel like taking a shower. They fawn over people in Muslim countries doing undercover missionary work. Yeah, way to make those nations happy you giagantic ass grackle douchebags.

Thge only thing that EWTN has going for it is sometimes that old nun they have on can be pretty entertaining.

and I swear they have her on like 24/7. One minute she's telling bible stories the next minute she's selling crucifixes on her own Catholic Home Shopping Network.

19. I think she had a stroke,
the shows where she's wearing an eye patch were when she was recovering from it, but then she died a couple or more years ago. I used to watch when I still thought it possible to go back to the Church. I couldn't take her, mostly watched Journey Home.

....haven't PAID for MORE commercials in over a decade...don't sit around and suffer the consequences of cable news or other shite...I exercise my mind reading mostly...I occasionally will watch the FREE channels that are still out there...and they are pathetic to the point of not wantin' a TV at all...sigh..if everyone would just quit payin' for cable and sattelite TV then it would FORCE 'em to do better..or put their sorry..no talent..lyin' asses out o'business once and for all. x(

23. Hi, jus_the_facts!
Haven't talked to you in a while. I do boycott CNN, FAUX, and MSNBC. I've sent them e-mails based on things I've heard here at DU, saying that they'll never get me back by doing what they are doing. I wish we could select the cable channels we want.

Thanks for posting and good thinking, Amber! :hi:

former fundy ministers. I used to watch Journey Home, and these guys were always talking about starting out to flame the church, then converting. Wierd.

which says alot. Even their home page points out that "pro-life" programming takes much of their programming.

Plus, it's the only place where I can watch Rallys!

I'd like to see those Neckcar boys try their hand at a WRC event. It'd be good for a laugh.

30. Don't know it's name, but it's blocked right after Faux
whenever the power goes out and I have to redo the channel setup.

The channel has nothing but paid programming. 24/7/365.25 of "Buy my lousy crap that no store could sell."
