i got an awesome new game Last night - showdown: Legends of wrestLing for the xbox.

they have andy kaufman on it... huLk hogan, andre, sheik, iron shiek, sheik's nephew sabu... pretty much every guy i used to watch on tv as a kid (incLuding that great cartoon)

i've got my pLans for the weekend. :D

i onLy pLayed a few matches (using abduLLah the butcher, oLd sting, and sabu).

you can choose what arena to fight in - the boston garden (RIP), MSG, mid-south coLLiseum, daLLas sportatorium, etc

whew! i can't wait to get outta here to pLay some more.

you seem very knowledable about the history of the "sport" with your reference of the sportatorium (I don't remember the name of the federation but it was the Von Erichs, Freebirds (when they were nasty and cool) and the like)

i do Love it and try to brush up on the history whenever i can.

the sportatorium was WCCW (worLd cLass championship wrestLing). i used to Love that show as it was on every day at 3 pm (on ESPN no Less) when i got home from schooL.

they had poor tv work (no money), but great taLent and usuaLLy good angLes.

i remember a bruiser brody/terry gordie texas death match which finished with a guy coming out and sqeeging (sp) the mat because there was so much blood.

of their opponents. there was never any good japanese,german, or russian wrestlers. surprisingly, italian wrestlers were usually good and they were part of the same evil axis!
