Nevermind the terrorists - beware the rodents - State Department

Washington - As if the US state department didn't have enough to worry about with Iran, Iraq and the French. The onset of cold weather in the capital has prompted a mouse alarm.

The department, in a public notice, warned everyone in its main building Foggy Bottom on Monday that "increasing numbers of mice and their larger cousins" were set to launch their annual search for warm lodgings and food.

Unfortunately, the notice added, renovations in the some areas of the building provide convenient entry paths for rodents.

And so, the department's thousands of employees were told not to leave food around their desks, pick up any dropped crumbs and reduce clutter.
