What would happen if you ate a battery?

Or more to the point, swallowed one? D'ythink the stomach acid would eat through the shell and cause the battery acid to spill out into your stomach and then you'd die? Or do you think the shell is made to contain acid, and thus would be impervious to the acid in your stomach and then in 24-48 hrs you'd make a battery poo? :shrug:

8. My sister-in-law's puppy got her paws on a battery

and started chewing on it. It was taken away before she got too far with it, but she did have a small burn on one side of her mouth. The vet told my sister-in-law to give her some milk and keep an eye on her, it would be clear in a fairly shot time if she'd swallowed any acid and needed to go into the vet.

Fortunately, her only problem was that she got awfully drooly until her mouth healed. And batteries are the one thing she no longer wants to chew.

There is not actually any acid in batteries you could swallow. But a heavy metal posion case is no joke.
