Weird Wedding gig...
I played during the ceremony and cocktails of a wedding on Saturday; and one of the guests was dressed in his best good-old-boy finery...suit pants, white shirt, no jacket, gawdy red white & blue tie, and equally garish baseball cap.

Our ensemble consisted of flute, violin, and cello. The cellist complimented him on his tie (no accounting for taste), and he replied "I'm just a good American!" and asked us if we knew any Toby Keith tunes.

I had to resist the temptation to offer Dixie Chicks tunes instead. I was soooooo thrilled when the flutist, who was leading the gig, and the cellist, who is a raving repiglican, said almost simultaneously, "Never heard of him." :D

The guy told us later that he was Toby Keith's drummer. As stomach-churning as his outfit was, I have to admit that he was very kind to us...getting us water (he offered us stronger fare), and making a point of listening to us play. Too bad he plays with that jackass...
