How can I transfer my US currency into foreign currency? Without going
overseas right now, that is? The dollar is going to drop even lower, so I'm thinking I might ditch some (since in about 6 months I'll be living overseas anyway), but I don't want to wait any longer--I want to dump some now before it's worthless! I'm serious! Any advice? Thanks!

3. Do you know where you are moving to? Perhaps start an account
with a bank in that country and wire funds over periodically. Even if you don't move there you can wire funds back to another account. :hi:

6. Prague--I'm taking a trip in January, and can open an account then..
...but I can't do it prior since they need you in person to show ID, etc. I'm really starting to panick about this!

8. Did you call and verify that? Many times (I used to work in wire transfers
we opened accounts without the person available in person overseas. I.D. was just verified upon arrival, with copies faxed over prior. Check with several banks and see. :hi:

10. I checked with one bank, and they said I needed to be there in person...
...I can check a few more, but I'm willing to bet that since it's Prague, they still have funny rules--lots of bureaucratic commie red tape still floating around there! Thanks.

16. Right. And the good news is that if you lose them there's no risk.
Find out if they expire, though.
