Best Movies for Liberals?
OK, someone mentioned in the Christmas thread that "It's A Wonderful Life" is a liberal movie. Also I'd add "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." What others are there?

10. Girl movie
Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock. Lots of symbolism about "The Divider's" presidency being like a wrecking ball. They actually have a giant wrecking ball with a big 'W' on it.

Gee, maybe I should bring back my former weekly feature
"Movies for Democrats."

Unfortunately, researching the TV and cable listings takes too long, so I gave it up a little over a year ago.

42. one of my all time favorites
love it's anti-capitalist anti-consumerism messages

Our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

50. Fight Club was not what I expected...
I thought it would be sort of a cinematic take one of those video games where you fight the opponent (Mortal Kombat??) I only went to see it because I will see anything with Edward Norton in it.

Wow! What a message... about how we in this culture are walking around in a consumerism-induced fog. If we can just get the right clothes and the living room ensemble, everything will be OK.

YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE. Rent the DVD so you can freeze frame it.

And I am most heartily sorry, Mr. Durden, for breaking the first rule of Fight Club.

34. These will sound weird, but there's a reason I mention them...
Two great Soviet era films:

The Irony of Destiny
Moscow Does not Believe in Tears

I mention them not for any other reason than it shows the citizens of the 'evil empire' going about their daily lives, living, working and loving. It humanizes the people I was taught to hate during my schooling in the 60's and 70's.
