Where were you four years ago?
I was sitting at my computer buzzed from too much wine not believing the shit that was going on in regards to the Bushies stealing the election.

Here I am four years and many Kerry donations later, hopes dashed, not believing what a f'ing mess we're in now (and buzzed from too much wine).

7. My prayers are out there too as well as my friends and families
You are not alone this time. I don't know what religion you are or what your beliefs are but there are strength in numbers.

There are so many things this year that we as Democrats should be proud of!

I scream too! My children think I'm crazy. Sometimes I slip with a ****** or that's b**ls** or just yell out at the television. My sister the psychologist says it's normal with what we've been through these last 4 years. It's basically what we make of it now.

9. I was raised in the Baptist faith as a child ( never baptised ) ...
Practiced Wicca between 19 and 20 ( but I always had beliefs in Nature since I was born , it came naturally , I was forced to go to church - talk about Armageddon and the Rapture freaked me out , I did not sleep between the ages of 6 - 11 because I thought we were all gonna die , hailfire and brimstone , now I know that stuff was all phooey ) now I just believe in God , Karma , the forces of Nature and all that stuff lol . I think religion is something created by man along with money - God has nothing to do with either one of these things ( religion and money ) because they were both created by " man " .

Did you read the article about the psychologist in Boca Raton , FL who has treated 15 patients already as a result of this election ? I wish I could find this article , but if everyone is feeling this way , this is a CLEAR sign that this man , Shrub , is evil . If everyone is this depressed and took this so hard , this is a clear sign that Bush is evil . I don't want to get into soul and spiritual things , but really , this is a sign that if everyone is taking this so bad , Bush was the wrong choice .

3. Interesting.... for me could be worse.
Four years ago right now...

In addition to the stress of the election, I was packing all of mine and my son's belongings, moving out of state, out of reach of my raging alcoholic violent drug-addicted ex-husband. Divorce was finalized on the 29th, a day shy of our 9th wedding anniversary, oddly. In some regards, I am in a 'better place'. As I learned from the genius of Monty Python: Always look on the bright siiide of life.

5. I think that old saying says it quite plainly
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Words to live by.

6. In the hospital emergency room
Dad was crashing due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease.

Brother (*Bushlicker) was there humping His Leader's leg.

Now, Dad gone. Brother alienated and not speaking. Mom in between.

8. Studying my ass off in college.
Oh, also, working my ass off to afford college and living expenses.

As far as the election of 2000 goes...
I was annoyed that Bush won the election. I didn't like Bush part 1, so I naturally wasn't too excited about Bush part 2. I remember telling my husband (well, we weren't married at that point in time) that dumb ass would most likely invade Iraq and finish what his daddy started. Morons are so predictable.

and all the Brits were asking me about Bush (because I lived in Texas) - I told them HE WILL BE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE. Guess they found out the hard way.

11. I was in England as well.
Living in Bodmin which is in Cornwall. People were asking me about that wanker before hand and I reassured them that there was no way in hell we'd elect that boob. I was right. We didn't.

When Florida was going down I once again reassured various friends the SCOTUS would do the right thing. I told them Scalia-Rehnquist-Thomas triad was nasty trouble however, don't worry about O'Connor, she'll do what is right. I was an idiot.

On 12 December when the selection was made, I was on a late train to London, when I found out. I wasn't sure what/how that had happened, but the Londoners were not amused. Neither was I when we talked about it. I couldn't believe it. I still can't.

15. I was shocked and horrified
as were so many of us. Remember how shocked and horrified we were when it happened - and of course this whole business has turned out to be much worse than we imagined in the last four years. I mean after all, we thought, "Could he be any worse than his father?" And now look. I can't imagine.

16. I am more terrified now than I was 4 years ago ...
Because now he " thinks " he has a mandate . He thinks he is BillyBigSh!@ right about now - I bet he thinks they should roll out the red carpet wherever he goes . I would throw flowers alright , poison ivy leaves . He already enforced the so called " one question rule " for the White House Press Corp .

BTW Welcome to the DU :yourock: :)

With my ex, same position not believing that was about to spend next four years under Bush. Funny thing, when he took office I was making 2 times what I'm making now.
