Romantic? Not unless your idea of romantic is seeing women being walked all over, lied to, insulted and humiliated, used up and cast aside.

Comedy? Most definitely not. I don't remember one laugh.

Rather it was a subtle, hard-hitting, thought provoking and depressing movie about a degenerate dead-beat prick and the women he used and abused. It was also the first movie Caine made dealing with abortion. Caine was superb, btw. I think he won an Oscar for it.

If they have managed to somehow turn this into a romantic comedy, it is just one more (minor) bitter pill to swallow.

That said, I have to agree with you about Jude Law.

9. i saw a behind the scenes thing on it

Basically the premise is, he gets women to fall in love with him, then leave them, but not in the way that makes them angry, they still love him, but he doesn't want to commit. Until he finds that he, himself, needs love, but doesn't know how to keep the one girl he does fall for.
