What is the more appropriate Red Sox destiny?
Do they win tonight during a lunar eclipse,

or

do they flub tonight, wind up in a Game 7 showdown, and pull it out of their ass Kirk Gibson-style in the bottom of the 9th, in a do-or-die situation?

Frankly, winning in a four game shut-out is pretty anti-climatic, don't you think?

1. I think any way they win will be
anti-climatic after beating the Yankees for the pennant. But if they do win I hope its in St. Louis and not Boston. The fans in Boston will be crazy enough without the win being there.

2. Not having a dog in this race...
I was thinking along those lines. The ultimate agony for a Sox fan - to have made the ultimate comeback in baseball postseason history, and then to have it repeated ON YOUR TEAM if the Cards come back to win the last four.

I really don't care one way or the other who wins, but yes, a 4 game sweep would be the most anti-climatic way to end the "curse".

Anti-climatic? JUST WIN FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

5. No, not high, but talk to me next Tuesday night.
And the sweep lacks finesse. Bare minimum, the team's plane needs to be trapped in the Andes for a day or two, until they're forced to eat one of the relief pitchers. SOMETHING.

Otherwise it's like the Emperor turning to Luke in the last ten minutes of Jedi and saying "Okay, okay, we give. My bad."

8. You're clearly not from Boston.
We don't want things to linger. We just want it done. We want to breathe. We want to celebrate. We don't want to leave it to chance. Anti-climatic? Maybe. But we've been waiting for 86 fucking years. We'll take anti-climatic and run with it.

4. The Gibson home run was in game 1. Certainly not do or die.
Granted, one of the gutsiest plays in the history of sport.

I think a sweep is appropriate, and better on my hypertension.

Go Sox!

7. The Cards folded like a house of cards.
I'm happy for the Sox, but it still sucks. We had the most exciting ALCS ever, followed by the most boring World Series in years.

11. They will unfortunately lose 4, 5, 6, 7 to St. Louis
I'm a Red Sox fan, but that's the way it goes in Red Sox Nation.
