I just checked out FREEPTARDVILLE for the first time
What a tacky little discussion board. I can hardly consider it a right-wing version of DU because it's pathetic. I have had deep discussions with educated conservatives over philosophical differences, and Freeperville doesn't come close to intellectual.

If that site represents the Bush constituency, then I guess I'm not too worried about competition for jobs knowing that a significant percentage of the population is that stupid. No wonder they see immigrants as a threat to their livelihood.

Don't worry, Freeptards! I'll never be competing with you for Wal-Mart jobs.

I should have checked that site out sooner. It was a relief to see how unsophisticated and boorish it was.

It was definitely good for a couple of laughs, but I wouldn't bother posting there.

6. Um, unfortunately they represent
about 40+% of THIS country. Sad, but true; and 'they' now control all vestiges of this government. Smirk at your own peril.

7. Laughing on the outside, crying on the inside
I was trying to be nice...I actually typed 40%, but edited it out. I've learned when to keep my mouth shut, having grown up in red states.

8. I don't agree.
I think that only a minority of Republican voters are represented by the raving psychos at freepville. They represent the extreme fringe of Republicanism, which, unfortunately, is the same group that has hijacked our government.

9. I think you're correct
Although I've noticed that mainstream people are starting to adopt some of those extremist views...creepy.

10. I think alot of people are being brainwashed
by exposure to the "liberal" media, and various extremist politicians and pundits are giving them a green light to express the very worst parts of their nature.

Hopefully we can create a better climate in this country where there will be encouragement to express the better parts of our nature.

11. 40% of Americans are nowhere near Freepers---maybe 5%
I'm sorry, but do you honestly think 4 out of 10 people you meet are anything like the knuckle dragging kool aid drinkers on FR?

Most people i know are relatively apolitical.

13. What is your disagreement?
You agree that freeper extremists have taken over Our government but you disagree that the people who voted them into their positions of power didn't know what they were doing? What? Are you saying that they are stupid?

Unfortunately, the MAJORITY of Republicans are all freepers at heart.

Tom DeLay, perhaps the most powerful Rebub, has exposed his freeper credentials over and over again. Perhaps you were talking about some other Repub like Rick Santorum? Bzzzt, you loose.

In this time in history, anyone who supports a Repub is a freeper, even if their "discourse" has been focus-grouped as more palatable for public consumption.

14. He did say that a lot of them are apolitical...
I am thinking that the far right has been successful because a lot of people only "listen with one ear." I see a sophisticated media machine in place tricking people into voting against their best interests.

17. Excuse me?
Where did I ever say anything about Tom DeLay or Rick Santorum? I agree that a large proportion of Republican elected officials, are raving psychos. All I did was dispute the notion that 40% of the U.S. population as a whole are raving psychos. Are you really trying to suggest that Rick Santorum and Tom DeLay make up 40% of our country's population?

Bzzzt, I was talking about the poor suckers who vote for them, not they themselves. Some of them are raving freeper psychos, but IMO most of them aren't. And yes, I am saying that many of them are stupid, or ignorant, or misguided, or simply not paying attention, and just voting Republican out of habit. Have you taken a look at this country recently?

If such a high proportion of the population were of the mentality of freepers, this country would already be in a state of civil war.

Then of course, you're confusing the fact that 40 some odd percent of voters vote for Republicans with the notion that that percent of Americans do. In case you hadn't noticed, only about half the eligible population even bothers to vote so even in your worst case scenario, only about 20% of Americans would qualify as freepers.

12. Do you really believe that?
I do not know about you, but 4 out of 10 people I meet are nowhere near that level of insanity.

FR is the hard core of the GOP. Most people who are registered GOP are not nearly that f-ed up.

15. Yes, I DO believe that!
You may see FR as the "fringe," but those GOP people still vote for insanity, don't they?

What's their excuse? They don't know, or they'r not "that" fucked up?

18. Repugs have made single issue voting an artform.
I've meet people voting for * solely because of abortion, or because of the war on terra, or because of Kerry being a traitor. They may disagree with the bulk of *'s agenda, but they're solid on one point.
We, here, find that difficult to comprehend because as Democrats we believe in the politics of compromise -- we give, you give, no one is completely happy and everybody gets what is acceptable. The repug voters don't generally look at a wide range of issues, allowing for give and take on any of them. They have their core issues, and anything else is gravy. That's how they've been consistantly successful. We yield to get a compromise, they lie to look like a compromise then do whatever they wanted in the first place. That way they always win a little, and we always lose a little.

It's not hard to understand, but damned hard to fight unless we are willing to admit that they are led by the 'most dishonest, lying bunch of crooks' in modern politics.
