Knights of Columbus...give me a full report.
Please, tell me what you know about the Knights. I'm curious, and considering membership. Is there anything I should know?

1. well, in the mid-1950s they lead the march b4 congress to sponsor
the religious "under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance. Their rationale for inserting "under God" was to "combat ungodly communism" thought to be in-filtrating our government, our schools, hiding behind every tree and fire hydrant across America. In other words, if you "pledged" "under God" then you could not be a communist.

I kid you not.

. . . . . . . . . . .

2. As a Mason, I have a hard time saying anything about them
as, like the Masons, most of what is written about them is done by disgruntled members and people who have never really known a things about the membership--or who understand why men want to join Fraternities that have a strong ritual/religious and secretive element.

My suggestion?

Sit down with members of the society and talk. Be open. Ask questions.

Some fraternal organizations in this century get directly involved in politics and picking religions. Others do not. MY OPINION (only) is that the Knights get very involved with religion and politics in the social sphere. (US Masons, for various reasons, do not get involved in politics or religion anymore)

It should be noted that Bush spoke to them recently.

4. Congrats!
Are you being put through as a group or by yourself? Without a doubt, I'm not a fan of the idea of multiple candidates.

3rd is an ordeal...by that I mean it's long and there is a LOT to absorb.

But the 3rd is also the most beautiful. If you have a group of Brethren in the parts that really get into it, well, it's freeping great!

5. Well we will be done individually for the first part
And as a group for the second.

They have been preparing a while for this, so it should be good.
