Call me "Un-American" or a "commie" if you will, but I seriously don't care whether the Yankees or the Red Sox win. I prefer to watch other sports. Anyway else agree with me?

2. Hating the Yankees was something I was brought up with
You learn to hate them if there's a stupid kid who gets coddled by the NY Press for interfering with a ball :).

20. My dad could build a computer out of spare parts
He's why I'm so computer literate. He went out and bought one for me as soon as I was born.

Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 08:41 PM by Djinn
well sort of - I admit it is slightly less crap to have to sit through...it's still a game that takes ALL day to play, then you come back for up to 4 more days and that's just ONE test match.

Shane Warne did break some record or other but according to the cricket tragics I know Muralitharan will overtake him again soon

40. Mura-who?
Never heard of him myself. I only have a rough idea of the rules myself, and no-one has managed to explain to me why games can go on for days. I prefer rugby.

11. There are 40 threads currently on this Lounge page
3 of them are for baseball. Somewhere in those other 37 threads, you can probably find something besides baseball to talk about.

15. I am well aware of that
but the abnormally large amount of baseball threads has really got to me over the past few days. I needed to vent some frustration, and find out if others agree.

19. It's the playoffs
It happens every year.

And, P.S., if you're getting angry or frustrated over a few extra baseball threads in the lounge of a web forum, you should probably work on adjusting your perspective on things. Just a thought.

22. It's not really anger
but a nagging feeling of being left out of an activity that's appreciated and enjoyed by so many. I've played baseball, I'm not all that bad at it, but I can't make myself interested in it. That's the frustrating part. I think I'll get better once ski season starts, assuming anyone on DU is interested in downhill skiing. Go Bode!

I've never heard it put that way. So the evil is the trees and the rocks spread everywhere that you could run in to?

12. Well.. "commie" as I may be.. I dont give a rats ass about any sports.
after high school I came to the conclusion it was a complete waste of my time and certainly not in my zone of interest. I dont watch them, I dont follow them, I simply dont care about them.

26. I actually like baseball games
but I think that's just because of the overpriced hot-dogs laden with at least a pound of onions, mustard, and sauerkraut! Yum! Watching it on TV does nothing for me.

39. Kinda
except the table is bigger, there are more balls, very specific rules, and longer cues. It's really great to watch, actually. It takes a hell off a lot of talent to be a good snooker player.
