Does anyone else trip out over one word or phrase
I mean, like in the veep debate, I couldn't get it outa my head that Cheney called Edwards senator "gone". I actually woke up the next day after the debate, and wondered if he was threatening to off him in a small plane or something. Could've been his squinty eyes with the coke bottle glasses, that always scares the bejezus outa me. But I was wondering, does anybody else trip out on a word or a phrase, or something that seems very small and insignificant at the time?

1. The Nelson Mandela line
My buddy called me long distance right after Edwards said that and said "Can you beleive that? How do you respond to wanting to keep Nelson Mandela in prision!"

2. "Activist Judges"
Something about it just sends me into a frenzy. I start yelling at the radio/tv! "You fucking idiots, what was ROY MOORE???"

3. When people say "if you believe in abortion."
as if abortion were a religion or a god. "Uh, do you mean if i believe women should have control over their own bodies?"

5. Yeah in the first Prez debate
I joked that Kerry mentioned "nuclear proliferation" as the greatest threat facing this country just so he could hear * say "Nucular."

Like teachers down south saying 'lieberry' instead of "library"

6. "I have a passion for"........
uuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I can't stand that phrase! Like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...

I once saw a quote in our local newspaper where they were interviewing a childrens' advocacy person who said " I have a passion for children..."!!! I kid you not. I had to restrain myself and not write a LTTE explaining "that's the damned problem, people who have a passion for children"!!!

7. You mean other than "President Bush?"
That's kept me awake in an avalanche of mental what-ifs for 3+ years.

Doesn't bother me, but several of my Las Vegas friends/acquaintances freak out when a sportsbook ticket writer tells them "Good luck" after they make a bet. Bizarre, I concede, bordering on insane. But many of them are convinced they will lose the wager if the person writing the ticket says that. I've seen otherwise normal people insist the ticket is voided, then they make the wager again at a different window or casino.

8. yeah, glad I'm not alone in these minor upsets
I didn't remember Edwards stating that Nelson Mandela should remain in jail. That's really retro and disturbing. It's the whole problem, really, that both political parties have gone conserv.
