OK, too damn much of this serious stuff. Let's post our favorite recipes for drinks -- emphasis alchoholic -- in time for the debate parties tonight.

Here's mine:

Planter's Punch:

Fill a tall glass with roughly cracked ice or ice cubes. Add 1 jigger of Myers' Dark (Jamaican) Rum, TBSP grenadine syrup, TBSP lime juice, fill with orange juice, stir and enjoy.

Use with caution. These are so tasty they can get you roaring before you know it. If you want to fake it, you can cut the rum to 1 TBSP with very little change in the flavor and color.

1. What's the difference between a jigger and a shot?

A traditional jigger is a double sided device. With a large measure on one end, and a smaller one on the other. The larger measure is usually (but not always) 1-1/2 ounces, and is called a "jigger".

I'm not sure a shot is an actual measure...

3. My invention.

2 shots of Dooley's Toffee Liquor
1 shot of Vodka
a splash of root beer

Serve on ice. Trust me. It's good.
