I am now my college english professor's 'teachers pet'

GAWDAMMIT.

She makes a point to always overly praise my writing, and always calls on me to answer her questions, and pulled me aside in class today to talk to me 'privately' but loud enough so that everyone could hear, about how she doesn't think i belong on her class, i belong in some advanced english class, and how she wants me to work as a tutor to other students in the class who could use some help and how she wants to recommend me as a writing tutor at the university, which is a job seniors and graduate students usually get.

I hate teachers pets, and now I f'n am what I hate!

My friends make fun of me saying 'well why don't we just leave you brenda (our professor) alone together! it could just be you and her in the class, that's it' :eyes:

There are worse things. So long as you keep it cool and she doesn't give you unearned breaks, your friends should be ok with your new status. You should just enjoy having a teacher who thinks you are talented.

I know what you mean though...still it's good to have those professors that you can always count on for a recommendation or something. don't blow them off just because it's annoying now, it can be helpful later.
