He says he's started having to avoid their "Tangency" forum (the equivalent of our Lounge) because it's filling up with nothing but nasty political arguments. People there are calling for a separate "Politics" forum so that Tangency can go back to its proper functions of advice to the lovelorn and cat photos.

When even the gamer geeks are weirding out over the election, can you be surprised that DU-ers are climbing the walls?

They have been since that horrible, nasty Republican convention. As you have said, it is almost already too late. We cannot survive four more years of Bush* and the neocons. Sounds like a '50s group. This photo of John Kerry, from his website, surrounded by a vast sea of supporters, gives me hope. And they don't have to sign a loyalty oath to hear him speak. I cannot imagine four more years of darkness and war, so am scared myself, but am encouraged by small things like CNN polls and e-mails from friends. DU needs to hang in there.:grouphug:

31. The assitude in GD04

is largely why I stopped posting in the political fora altogether and retreated to the Lounge. The stupidity of the Primaries battles in there turned me off of topical chat for a good, long while. When we know who the next president is and GD04 becomes a useless relic, I'll probably go back to GD to discuss news and policy, but for now, I much prefer to answer pointless polls, slag on pop music, CONFESS!, CAPTION and/or Ask (someone) Anything.
