7. Try Firefox (1.0 Beta)...

Much more secure than IE, and doubtless at least as efficienct.

Also, are you useing Dialup? Cable Modem? DSL? Other?

If you are still useing Dial Up, get a used USR Courier V.Anything modem off ebay for 10 or 20 dollars... they are the best analog modem choice.

If you are useing DSL or Cable, check out dslreports.com for information on your ISP.

9. Speed kills!

Really. I had some kind of accelerator for a while--a little popup was telling me that it saved me 50 hours a week or something. But when I decided I couldn't afford the $3.00 a month anymore and dropped it, I couldn't notice ANY difference in connection speed whatsoever. But I sure do notice that extra $3.00 a month!
