Fan mail I just received, and my reply

Dear condescendingly "enlightened one,"
Your piece is a fucking joke, because you sir, are a fucking
joke.
You seem to have not watched an episode of CNN Headline news in years,
as you mischaracterize her as some "young republican..." because she
refuses your Bolshevik ideology, and your qualification that Ms.
Bakhtiar is an "airhead" is simply a reflection of how arrogantly high
you hold your own intellect. And while you can't "objectively
quantify" "airheadedness," you seem to be able to qualitatively
discern it with precision. Furthermore, those who believe your
insignificance will "hurt her feelings" should sleep well knowing that
your internet site, and the idiocies which stem from it, are
inconsequential in every aspect. I sleep well at night, and so does
Rudi Bakhtiar, knowing your opinions are the pathetic derivatives of
your intellectually deficient mind. Fuck you, you pathetic piece of
shit.


My reply:

Thanks for your fan mail. I'm delighted to know that I've brought a
little excitement into your constricted life, much of which I assume
is spent in front of the television set, trying to masturbate to CNN
Headline News.

I don't think we should be just like them. And the DU admins take the email addresses off of their fanmail when they publish it.

I track the hits on my site, and that essay gets lots of hits from Google searches for "rudi bakhtiar" or "cnn rudi" and suchlike. (I can see the search string that was entered as well as where the hit came from.)

I haven't checked recently, but at one time, if you did one of those searches, my site came up first on Google.

11. Yeah, much more literate than most of the ones I get

I get quite a bit of e-mail because of that essay. A few people agree with me, but most of the e-mails are from Bakhtiar fans who are outraged that I would say anything nasty about their goddess. Those tend to semiliterate and nothing but a stream of insults.

One said I must be "a homo". Another sait that I was just upset because I knew I'd never have a chance with her. I wrote back to ask him if he thought he did.

Your article was interesting, too.

Although I think Rudi Bakhtiar is extremely attractive myself, I've noticed the same "airheadish" tendencies that you mention in your article. I'm not really sure what her political persuasion is... I always figured she was just towing the CNN line like pretty much all their "newsreaders" do. Not that that's particularly admirable, though... for all I know she is a former Young Republican like you mentioned. I always figured her for a not particularly insightful, perhaps airheadish newsreader; guess she could be a Repug, but it's hard for me to face that fact! haha I guess for me she's like how you are with the Lynn Russell you mentioned... I can watch Rudi Bakhtiar and be captivated without even realizing so much what she's saying, 'cause she's just that attractive to me. I feel like a pig admitting something like that, but I guess it's true. That's probably where the bulk of the people attacking you are coming from. I think you make a good point in the article, though.
