Anyone remember in the 2000 debates when Gore scared Bush?
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 09:04 AM by Gothic_Sponge
I wish i could find a clip of it, but i remember Gore walked over to Bushes podium, and Bush had this complete look of fear. I guess Bush thought Gore was going to deck him. LOL!

1. Bad tactical move...
It backfired on him and on Little Ricky Lazio when he approached Hillary Clinton in a debate. I wouldn't advise Kerry to do that.

3. Actually that moment was a bush win...
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 09:12 AM by vi5
Gore came into that first debate totally cocky because everyone had been talking about how he was going to trounce bush. So he was prowling the stage like a prize fighter and got into bush's space. Bush stopped what he was saying, looked at him, smirked, and nodded in aknowledgement as if to say "Hey, how ya doin'?".

It was and still is the only moment I've ever seen bush actually be clever and I concede that he actually won that moment on it's merits.

It never happened prior to that and it hasn't happened since. But even beyond the lowered expectations, that was his point.

6. I do remember from the 2000 debates, another moment when Gore was really
making an argument for something (I can't remember exactly what) and I think he turned to Bush and asked a question for which Bush did not have an answer and he (Bush) turned to Lehrer and told him that Gore was "attacking his heart", i.e. his believes to which Lehrer stopped Gore, changed the subject and the whole thing proceeded with Gore not able to make his point by having Bush show just how ignorant and muddied up of a soul he was. I can't remember basically what the whole thing was, but that was basically the dynamics of it. And he'll do it all over again if Kerry gets to lodge any questions or doubts that he knows will hurt him. He will pretend to be "hurt" so that someone (the moderator) will rescue him and turn the tables on Kerry. BUSH IS A MASTER MANIPULATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Can Kerry make jackoff hand gestures while Bush is speaking?
I've love to see that...and some rolling of the eyes on Kerry's part.

9. First debate, Kerry out-debates W, sending W running away in tears
screaming like a girl and a large wet stain on the front of his pants.

Liberal media headline the next day:

"Bush not afraid to show sensitive side of Compassionate Conservatism"
