Do you have a web cam ?
A friend of mine offered me his web cam for a cheap price.I never tried one before so I don't know if it would be useful for me.Is it worth it?

1. I had three once...
If you're not into voyeurism, then they're not good for general use. I used mine for teleconferencing and for watching over my cat while I was out of town. It was nice to be able to check in from thousands of miles away and see that everything was good.

2. if you have high speed access (not dialup)
and you have someone you can be in touch with who also has DSL or cable, then it's good. I keep in touch with my sibs and family - a nice addition to email!

I don't have it set up yet but I'm excited!
It'll be great for keeping in touch with loved ones who are moving far away. I also plan on keeping watch on a pregnant cat we're fostering. I don't know if you'd necessarily call a web cam useful, but it can be a rewarding gadget.
