May the Gods bless Dentists....
who aren't stingy with their nitrous and post-pulling medication!

A dazed and pleasantly confused post-pulling

1. Woooohooo! Good legal drugs!
They're the only kind I can take, now.

I had an upper endoscopy a couple of years ago. The Doc pumped me full of Versaid and Demerol. I was flying for 6 hours :)

3. I've had problems with booze throughout my life
but pills? Never. I figure if I'm going to be in pain I might as well enjoy myself.

Personally, I think the dentist I went to is/was a stoner. He used the "lingo" quite a bit during the visit. And he didn't skimp on the NO2. Man, I think he must have given me the highest dosage of pure NO2 that I've ever had at a dentist. And he was quite generous on the pre-and post-pulling medication.

I have panic attacks, so the good dentists that I've gone to usually give me something so I can sleep the night before and so that I'm calm going in. One time when I went to a dentist who didn't do that, I ended up having a panic attack that was so severe that I almost had a heart attack and they had to call an ambulance for me. So it's not just a "being afraid of the dentist" thing. It's a serious phobia with me.

6. I'm sorry that you had problems...
seriously, I am.

Being an ATC, I am pretty much limited to real procedures for chemical "fun". I do realize that there are people that don't respond well to drugs.

8. Thank you for your sympathy!
What's an ATC? I probably know but I'm a bit fuzzy. ;-)

12. You're welcome.
I'm an air traffic controller.

I'm thinking it's a good thing we're subject to random drug tests, regardless of the personal inconvenience ;)

I don't think I'd feel if they were in my mouth or not right now, to tell you the truth.

This is just the first visit of whats almost going to be a weekly thing. I pretty much have to have my mouth remade. Damn our medical system. We couldn't afford to go to the dentist for years. It was hard enough to pay the rent let alone do anything medical.

Fortunately, my Uncle and Aunt ended up getting a sizable amount of money from selling her Father's house when he died a couple of years back. He's so cool and loving that he's paying for the entire job of remaking my mouth. It's going to run into the thousands of dollars too.

LOVE YA MIKE! :loveya:

(He's a conservative and sometimes drops in here at DU to read the news, but don't hold that against him. He's one of the good ones. I don't know what I'd do without him. Give my best to Mary!)

And good to see you again. Haven't seen you around much (and I haven't been around much, either).

Is this getting close to the end of the dental mayhem for you? If memory serves, you started your tooth-fixing adventure in Spring 2002.

And yes, blessed be dentists who understand pain. And blessed be dentists who know what the hell they're doing, too!!

7. I probably have another 6 months or so of work.
I wasn't around a lot because I had a lot of health issues to take care of and my arthritis was really bad...and being in constant pain from my rotten teeth didn't help. I spent a lot of time in bed this Summer. I was also hit by a severe bout of depression during this primary season because I fell off my manic depression medication. I'm back on that and back to supporting Kerry full on, so you'll be seeing me as much as you once did.

Good to see you back too!

:hi:

9. Good to have you back and healthier, then!
You are one of my favorite peoples. :-)

Sorry to hear about all the problems you had. Depression is tough stuff.

Onward, Cthulhu! I mean, Kerry!

11. And you, dear Rabrrrrrr, are definitely one of the best people around DU
Hands down!

:loveya:

Cthulhu has decided to drop out of the race. He's been hinting to me that he might be offered a position as Secretary of Defense, but keep that to yourself. He's always liked the architecture of the Pentagon.

13. What do you call a doctor who flunked out of med school?
A DENTIST! (thanks Seinfeld)

Actually, I am eternally grateful for the dentists who fixed my teeth from growing in a direction that would push other teeth out of my mouth.
