Would you renew your computer warranty
I have until the end of this month to renew my computers warranty and I am not sure if i should renew it or not.

Can anyone tell me why I should or shouldn't pay for additional warranty time?

1. It's a huge revenue source for whoever provides the warranty
PCs are getting so cheap, odds are whatever you paid for the warranty when you bought it would probably cover a comparable PC now.

2. Depends on a LOT of factors.
Does it cover the hard-drive and /or Motherboard/CPU/Memory (ram)?
(If it doesn't cover all Four..NO!
The other "stuff" is fairly cheap

Is it a laptop?
What is the cost of the warrenty?
How old is your computer?

3. I paid $1,500 for everything on it
I have had it almost one year and it's a desktop computer.

The cost varies depending on it you want 1, 2 or 3 years. I think that it would be silly to take out a 3 year warranty because the computer will be obsolete by then.

One year is $80.00 does that sound bad?

5. radwriter is correct... :) also $80.00 for one year is not bad IF
..and I mean IF they cover the Big Four (Hard-drive, Memory, Motherboard, CPU. ...and the power supply for good luck.

Any one of those would cost more than 80 Bucks (installed)

4. Ya know, the day after you DON'T get it, your computer will DIE.
That's just murphy's law.

If you have the fucking insurance that piece of crap will outlast you and your children's children.

That's just how that all works...
