Well, I told my girl friend that I want her to be my girlfriend.
This is the second time I've tried this. It lasted for about 5 seconds, and it didn't go over too well. The good news is that there doesn't seem to be any damage. The better news is that I can apologize for doing it and that gives me a chance to bring it up again.

Are there any girls out there who are just normal people who want other people to like them? Every one I've tried to be girlfriend/boyfriend with has some kind of issue. Oy.

But all is well... winter break is just around the corner and instant messenger makes for easy communication over hundreds of miles.

But don't spend more than $60.

2. I was just the girl in that situation....
yesterday. :D I feel too many emotions (most of them happy) to put into words.

He called my favorite radio station and did an on-air dedication of this really sweet, romantic song. C&P the lyrics:

Rushlow

I Can't Be Your Friend Anymore

This might come as quite a shock
But I’ve given it a lot of thought
This thing that’s come between us can’t be ignored
I’ve taken all I can
This is where its gotta end cuz I can’t be your friend anymore

And I can’t be accused of not being there for you
How many nights have you shown up at my door?
I hope you understand, this wasn’t in my plans
But I can’t be your friend anymore

And it's killin' me to know you without havin' a chance to hold you
And all I wanna do is show you how I really feel inside
You can run to me, you can laugh at me, or you can walk right out that door
But I can’t be your friend anymore

So baby now it's up to you
Do I win or do I lose?
Will my heart fly or lie broken on the floor?
Well take me as I am cuz I wanna be your man
But I can’t be your friend anymore

And its killin me to know you without havin a chance to hold you
And all I wanna do is show you how I really feel inside
You can run to me, you can laugh at me, or you can walk right out that door
But I can’t be just friends anymore
We can’t be just friends anymore

I  and  from happiness.

:loveya: :bounce: Somebody loves me! :bounce: :loveya:

You will find the right person. It takes time. Learn to love yourself.

4. Um... yeah. She'd die of embarassment if I did that.
She one of those "nobody could love me" types. Man that's hard to deal with. She always replies to my compliments with "oh, that's just what you're supposed to say. Go ahead, you can admit I'm ugly".

Every time she does that I just want to yell, "No, dammit! You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen!" And then she'd either never talk to me again (tragedy) or her dad would find out about it and come here to kick my ass (more tragedy). I'm in quite a bind. I guess she's a long-term project who shouldn't keep me from seeking out other girlfriends. It's cool though, I can see our paths crossing for many years.

6. This could be draining....as someone else said...finding someone
who is really happy that you love them would be a better path. And you DESERVE a relationship where someone loves you back.

3. Probably that "my" word. Sounds possessive.
Might be best to get to know each other better and let the progression into the "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing take care of itself.

n/c for the advice. :-)

5. wow...I am in a totally opposite situation, I have a boyfriend who I care
a lot about as a friend but I think I might be in love with someone else. And I can not stand the thought of hurting my boyfriend, although he did not help by constantly throwing me at this other guy.

8. sounds like she's (A)not interested and (B)has low self-esteem
Look elsewhere. You're just going to get hurt if you keep obsessing about this girl.

9. Long distance is a waste of time
Just be buddies that screw when you get a chance.

Then be BF and GF when you live within 30 minutes of each other.
