12. The ER doctors are the worst

at least the ones I have run into have been. The last one I saw (a year ago), I swear never looked at my face once and mumbled the whole time, ran in and out as fast as he could.

I understand they are busy but I'm a human being. I was discharged from the hospital while vomiting so they gave me a pink plastic bedpan to throw up in as I left.

Nice, eh? And I HAVE insurance!

I didn't have insurance for four years. No money and no insurance means you tough it out until you're half-dead and then meet the ER doc when you're at your worst. Half the times that that happened to me, I got some conservative asshole jerk of a doctor. x(

Now, that is one great ER doctor!

22. That happened to me too!

I was snowboarding with a bunch of friends. One guy we didnt know very well but invited anyway.

Well an hour later I break my arm - a really bad break in the humerous (bicep area). Was in so much pain.

When we get back the one guy's dad shows up - apparently he was head of E.R.! The bill after x-rays, morphine, and treatment was somewhere between $600-2000 but don't really know for sure since he covered it!

He is a real inspiration for us lowly med students.

I have a few, and the cheapest ones seem to work best for me.

Ah well. Have you ever listened through a wall or door with them? Nothing is secret, nothing, ha.

You can put a kid at ease by letting them wear a pair and listen to their gut sounds. Not very scary, very funny to the kids; sounds like a creek or a flushing toilet. It does not seem mysterious when you let people listen to their own sounds. Maybe not to start with heart or lung sounds if there is doubt. I listen first, then let them listen.

They are neat. Hope you do well.
