Don't believe everything the Dr. tells you.
They told me I was over 70 percent clogged in my right coronary artery. OMG I thought. I thought 47 years of eating all the bad and wrong things can do that. I have the angiogram where they shoot the dye. They tell me I am less than 10 percent clogged. WTF ? A very welcome relief, but I am still going to eat better.(Insurance payments maybe ?) Who cares, I'm glad.

1. How did they figure 70% at first?

3. From a stress test
and a nuclear water iv shot then they took hundreds of pics of my heart from every angle twice. I got really scared because my brother was 80 percent clogged and he died 3 months ago at 38.

4. Glad to hear the good news
And glad to reiterate what you've just said; Do not believe the first doctor you consult if s/he tells you something out of the blue, or even more-than-slightly unusual. Don't feel intimidated into *not* asking for a referral.

5. Bad title for your thread
Since a doctor told you the second percentage as well, no?

6. Yes I guess so.
They said the angiogram / dye is the most accurate.

13. I'm just sayin'
Seriously, I've had my issues with doctors and believe in being assertive and informed. I had a chronic, easily treatable illness misdiagnosed by two different doctors for over five years, partly because I wasn't assertive enough with them.

But your doctor had the second test performed on you told you to have the second, more accurate test before going ahead and performing an angioplasty. So to me, it actually sounds like the whole doctor thing is actually working out well for you.

7. "F" some doctors! They told my wife 3 years
ago that I wasn't going to live and that she should make funeral arrangements. Then again, I don't know if I would call this "living".

Anyway, I had 8 doctors, most of whom probably were able to buy new BMW's. I don't even go to doctors anymore. They, literally and figuratively, make me sick.

9. physicians, heal thyselves of greed....
not all, of course. but over my decades on earth I find them to be generally corporate assholes sucking cash for their country clubs and new yacht purchases and also be drug pushers .

too many stories I know about people taking time to get information on their ailments and being wiser than their physicians.

8. glad for you, bearfan
i take everything they say w/ a grain; self-med as commonsense dictates.

the medical profession in this country are either cutters, or shills for the pharm companies.

sort of like bush, but better spoken.

12. Had the same test........
I smoked, ate the wrong things, was sleep deprived due to my stressful job. I basically broke every rule. When the results came back I was slick as a whistle! The Doctor shook his head and said its all in the GENES. He said my problem was electrical. By the way thats not a very pleasant procedure. Good Luck.
