Poll question: What sex do you make better friends with?
I always seem to get along better with females. I was brought up just by my mother.(divorce) Maybe that's why i'm not really into sports and other testosterone activities. How about you?

4. I often find I get a long better with men.
But unless they're gay men, it generally seems the underlying sexual tension ends up being too much, so that's it. End of friendship. It seems hard for me to end up remaining friends with strait males without that popping up (really bad pun not intended).

I used to find that when I was a bit chubbier, it was easier with different men I'm acquainted with to talk, etc. Now, especially if they're married and we're in public, they avoid me like the plague. Out of other parents I know, especially with my oldest, I tend to now be the mom who's younger and keeps myself up more, so a lot of people avoid me. It's odd, but I don't like to discuss what it seems everyone else does (UConn basketball or the weather), so I'm not missing much anyway.

6. I have a few female friends , but
most of my good friends are male because:

- They're low maintenance (You could be in a coma and maintain a friendship with some of these folks.)

- They tend to not have distracting female bodily parts.

- My wife, who has the perfect amount of jealousy: not so much that she's paranoid, but enough that I know she cares (and would kick some ass if necessary). Whatta woman!

9. I don't think its b/c
you were only brought up by mom. By the responses here, it's quite obvious that the men (here) get along better w/ women than just men.
I am also one of those - even back in HS, I went out to lunch with 3 or 4 women - and no guys.

10. im a straight male, and 3 of my best friends ever have been female.
the whole crap about straight guys being close friends with females and not always wanting it to be more is bull.

i think (personally) that its easier for a guy to open up to a female more easily than a guy. i dono why, but it just is.

11. I'm a female who gets along w/ people who have sense.
Which, since I'm in college, seems to be in short supply. ;) I get along fabulously with older people, though.

Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 11:15 AM by Teddy_Salad
I grew up in a house with 5 sisters and my mom.....I guess that's why I've always been more comfortable around women.

I'm pretty easygoing and can get along with either sex, but I find my best friends usually end up being men.
