One beef with the TV movie of Stephen King's "The Stand"
It's on now; Im watching it while I wax the floors.

So...this flu wipes out the whole of humanity, except a few people, right?

So, the deal is, you get the flu virus, you get sick, and you die over a period of a few days.

Okay...fair enough. But there's this montage of different locations with corpses litering the landscape (or devoid of any trace of mankind at all). A deserted beach. Times Square littered with smoking vehicles and scorched bodies. An empty shopping mall.

and then...

A Tilt-A-Whirl ride at an amusement park. With corpses in the cars.

What?!

It's like..."hey, kids, everyone around us is dying from the flu. I think your mom is dead, and I'm not feeling so hot myself. You guys liik a little feverish, too...wanna go die at Funland?"

What the hell was the director thinking?!

Sheesh.

1. I know what you mean.
I don't care much for that movie. Come to think of it.... I really don't like any Steve King TV movie.

2. Read the unedited version of the book.
Much better than the movie.

3. Yes, I've read it...
It's one of two King novels I like (the other being "IT").

It's just that one scene was so...stupid...

"Hey, Bobby, stop puking! You and your sister and I are going to go one more time on the Tilt-A-Whirl, just for old times' sake.."
