Johnny Depp as Lex Luthor? Maybe....Bryan Singer director? Maybe...
According to an informant for IGN FilmForce, X-MEN director Bryan Singer and Warner Bros. President Alan Horn recently had a business dinner meeting, and a job was offered to the helmer: come direct the new SUPERMAN feature. Reportedly Singer is mulling over the offer.

If Singer decides to accept and be the new director of SUPERMAN, all plans for his proposed remake of LOGAN'S RUN would have to go immediately on hold. The decision may also force a delay on the development of X-MEN 3, or it might even force Fox to consider hiring a replacement for Singer. The studio has announced plans to begin filming X3 next year for a May 5, 2006 release.

snip........

LaBeouf did mention the leading candidates for two roles in SUPERMAN: if McG has his way and remains involved in the production, he wants Scarlett Johansson (LOST IN TRANSLATION) to play Lois Lane, Johnny Depp (SECRET WINDOW) for Lex Luthor and an unknown actor for the part of the Man of Steel.

2. I think DICK CHENEY should play Lex Luthor
He's perfect! You know, the conniving thug mastermind turned multinational corporate criminal. At one point, Lex Luthor was even President of the United States. This should all be pretty familiar terrain for ol' tricky Dick.

3. First of all, Singer needs to concentrate on the X-men films, which he's
already neglected too much in his previous 2 efforts, although it wasn't all his fault.

Second of all, they should have the Superman movies use the same actors and origins from the Smallville series for Lex and Clark.

I thought that douchebag McG was directing anyway. How could Singer do it as well?

5. You have to admit....
X-men 2 was waaaaay better than the first one. It was still lacking a little.....something,I don't know what exactly, but it was miles better than the first.

Having said that, I can't see Johhny Depp as Lex Luther.

4. Keep him strung to X-Men!
For X-Men, he's great and I don't want to see a delay in the third one's production, 2006 is too far off as it is.

"Superman" had been done. 1950s TV show, 1980s movies, 1980s TV show, 1990s TV show, 20002 TV show... Nobody can top Christopher Reeve.
