Suuuure hope I'm wrong about that Carolina-FSU score, but the Heels are young, and many of the 'Noles have bad memories of the shellacking our guys put on them in the first post-Sept. 11 game two years ago. BAD combination for us, to say the least!

Being raised in LA (Lower Alabama). I still pull out my Sugar Bowl tape to watch us whup up on Miami now and then.

And I will have serious trouble cheering for them this year, because of the coaching decision they made.

I honestly think that selecting Shula over Crooms was primarily a racial decision. Crooms has a better resume. And he could bring something unique. Not only is he a link to the past, having won championships in Tuscaloosa both as a player and a coach under Bear, but he would also have been a step to the future. The first African-American head coach in the SEC.

Instead, they pick a coach who really hasn't done that much except have a good coach for a daddy. May as well have hired one of the Bowden boys at that point.
