Question for the women about my most hated commercial ever
I don't know what the commercial is for, either tampons or some other female product, but it has three women in swimsuits, one is on her period. The other two ask her why she wore a bikini on her period, with the cramps and bloating. She tells them she is using product x, whatever it is and its solved her problems. The others aren't sure she is on her period. Then she says, "I'd kill for a brownie" and the other two.. "Oh yeah, she's menstrual!"

My question is two part. First, why can't you wear a bikini due to cramps? Second, have you ever used the expression.. "Oh yeah, she's menstrual!" with your friends?

I HATE THIS COMMERCIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. You can wear any suit if you are on your period but swimming in general is
just kind of gross. They are trying to say that product X, a tampon, is so great that you can wear it swimming. I have no idea why they felt to need to emphasize the bikini though.

The brownie thing is about the unnatural need for chocolate that some women get while they are on their period.

And girls whilst alone together sometimes say all kinds of disgusting things about their bodies and their period. Some say menstral, some say raggin', some say the crimson tide, etc.

Hope that answers your questions.

I also hate both tampon and douche commercials.

2. No, I can't say I've ever used that expression.
"Must be that time of the month" is the one I've most often heard.

3. No, we women never say "menstrual"
Nor do we say "panties". Its "underwear", dammit.

and we never ever whisper whimperingly to our mothers or anyone except maybe Micheal Jordan, "sometimes I....stutter....hesitate.... don't feel so fresh"

We don't gaze lovingly at floor polish bottles and we don't ask toasters for advice.

And we don't REALLY have orgasms when putting a stick of gum in our mouths.

Thanks, this is a great opportunity to correct some of the misperceptions that men are being taught about women!!

5. My thoughts....
1. Most women tend to retain water (up to 5#) right before their period. Hence, the bikini would not fit quite so well.
2. No one in her right mind asks her friend if she's on her period. My friends do not, nor would not, use the phrase "she's menstrual." That's just asking for a pop in the eyeball.

6. Well as a man, I will tell you another commercial for women that I hate.

The one for the leg shaving and the song "I'm your venus, I'm your fire at your desire." It just annoys me.

8. I hate those ads, as well, but I have to tell you
that Venus is the best disposable shaver that I have ever used. Really easy and smooth, LOL!

7. Of course not. These commercials are not realistic
If I was having cramps, I would be lying down in a fetal position, not parading around in a bikini. If you are in pain, this is what you do. And I never would crave a brownie. Maybe a shot of brandy to take the edge off of the pain. And no woman says these things to each other. They tend to get it without a lot of explanation, though all women's experiences tend to be unique to them.
