Poll question: Are people who use the term "dork" dorks
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 11:30 PM by markses
That is, does calling somebody a "dork" kinda make you a dork by the sheer dorkiness of the word itself?

1. As an incentive to vote, I should say that I have a substantial amount
of cash (well, actually, beer) on the line based on the results of this poll. I maintain that to call somebody a dork automatically makes you a dork, but in so making that claim, am I automatically making myself a dork, and if you say I am, doesn't that make you a dork, leading us back to the initial problematic through a tortuous pathway of self-reference. Doesn't it? Doesn't IT? Anyway, my buddy - who I take to be a shitbird of first magnitude - thinksa that dork is a perfectly good epithet and that it does NOT rebound on to the user in any obvious way. He's an idjit, as it were.

Using the word "dweeb" does make you a dork, though.

5. You've thrown the data set into confusion!
We're trying to isolate a variable here! ;-)
