Who originally did the song "Summertime Blues"?
I was just listening to the Rush cover on the computer and I have heard the original but I don't know the name of the band that did it. I know that The Who covered it on Live at Leeds but beyond that, I know nothing.

3. Its an Eddy Cochran tune
Blue Cheer did a hot version of it, too--proto punk.

Course at first I was going to say Gershwin....

6. I forgot about the Blue Cheer version.
That one was pretty raw. Was Eddie Cochran kind of a 1-hit wonder?

5. Eddie Cochran & Jerry Capehart
My favorite version was done by the Flying Lizards, a very strange band to both appear and disappear during the 80's. They did a great version of the Beatle's 'Money (That's What I Want)', too.

13. A related question--I heard a bit on NPR about 6-7 years ago of
a movie about rock-and-roll. The producer is telling the band what kind of sound he wants, and they keep trying and not getting it, and he finally says, "okay, I'm coming in there . . ."

Never got to the see the movie and want to rent it. Does anybody know the title?
