What I believe is ill-defined, and I don't think in any case that it could be described accurately via religious dogma.

I would say no, but I lived in a house that I can only describe as haunted, so that would seem to indicate the possibility of consciousness after death, although you could make the case that manifestations like the sound of steps, etc. do not necessarily imply a consciousness.

I don't have proof convincing me either way, but I believe in the strong posibility of your soul moving on even though you pass in physical form.
