Selling Son's Beloved Play Station 2 For Punishment! EBAY
This is pretty funny.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8107675670&rd=1

Parents please let your children read this auction.

It was a glory day when my son received his Play Station 2. This beloved machine was his prize possession. He played, if not for hours at a time. When he would not take care of anything else, but he took care of this little treasure of his. Ground him, take away phone privileges………….anything but this PS2.

4. Selling destructive teenager's toy to recoup losses: Good.
Making a public spectacle out of it: IDIOTIC.

This man IS A MORON and that diatribe SERVES NO PURPOSE other than be fodder to PUNISHIST PORN MASTURBATION. He should just sell it quietly.

6. this has to be a wedding dress guy style ad
that's completely fake, but tells a story to get more bids

This kid is going to turn 18 some day, leave home, and from then on only talk to his folks a couple of times a year.

12. I agree.
The guy sounds like an idiot. If I were the parent in that situation, I would have taken it away and donated it to charity. Punishment served, and an underprivileged kid somewhere benefits. Win/win.

13. Me, I find nothing wrong with selling it.
Especially if its value is comparable with the losses the kid causes. But do it quietly.

But then again, now that other posters mentioned it, I find it very possible that it's fake, and the seller is counting on some Punishism addicts bidding on it to satisfy their prurient desires.

Mmmm, now THAT's a niche. And those people tend to have money too. Now, what could I come up with?

14. I agree. It's definitely the way it's being sold that gets me.
It's not that he's selling it. Putting it on sale with the story is hokey and over the top, and just seems unnecessary. Getting laughs at your kid's expense for punishment just seems wrong.

5. It's probably faux
I think they're making up the story in order to get people to look at the auction and drive up the price. The whole corkscrew-Dom Perignon story just doesn't ring true.

7. Funny...
some people over-write their ebay copy to generate interest.
Otherwise if true it sounds like a put upon step father to me.

Why would this guy bitch about a matter between him and his son on the internet? Must be some kind of ego-case.

10. I'm going to buy it, burn it and smash it...
...secret a severed finger (and perhaps an eyeball!) in its innards, and then send it back to the evil little troll as a warning to all kids everywhere.

Mind your parents, you ne'er-do-well rapscallions!

16. Can it be true?
I read somewhere that the boy is 6'3" and 13 years old. If I remember correctly a boy is just starting puberty at that age. Either the seller is making the story up or that boy has some serious growth hormone problems.

It could very well be a typo though. Judging by the typing and writing skills of the seller that is probably the case.

Rather than the fact her son was drinking? I mean she bitches about the bugel which was $51.00, then goes on to bitch about the $6.00 beer and the final kicker is $120.00 bottle of wine. But yet, no mention of how she was angered over the fact that her 13 y/o son was drinking.

Lesson of the story: it's alright to drink, just as long as you do it cheaply.

21. Yeah, I expected a little more about the drinking too
"Oh, I had some wine too"
So, had it been crappy wine would that have been okay?
You can tell the parents don't care anyway, any kid with the pills to just drink Dad's beer and not even try to hide it, hasn't been given enough of a reason to behave.

20. I don't see what is wrong with it...
I remember when I was younger the best form of punishment was public humiliation and losing out on something I really loved. In this case, she gets a double whammy for the kid!

Good for this parent!

That's me savoring the fact that Shanneee is not my Mom. Ahhhh, that felt good.

Public humiliation a good thing? Jesus H. Christ on a Plutonium-Powered Segway.

Edit: and an even bigger Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm for her not being my SISTER!

24. LOL...I'm not anyone's mom...
so maybe that's why my parenting skills are non existent. But still...I mean, a little public humiliation goes a long way. I'm not talking about the whole "making your kid walk around with a leash on his neck" type of public humiliation. I'm talking about how it's the worst thing in the world when your mom goes and tells Granny Anderson and Aunty Sally about what you did. And then even worse was them going on and on about it. Heck, there are things to this DAY that my mom still won't let me forget about. It gets embarrassing, but I can guarantee you I never made the same mistakes twice!

As for the sister joke :( I have two brothers and I like to think I'm a GREAT sister! Although when I was younger my older brother and I used to pretend to flush my little brothers stuffed animals down the toilet. But I stopped that at LEAST a year ago! :)

But then I'd have to be your Mom's son. :scared:

By the way: she's wrong. I'll never go ranting with others about my children's shortcomings. Never ever ever.
