2. I love Transfigured Night.
It's Shoenberg in a Mahlerian mode, late romantic, pre-12 tone. And it lives up to its name.

Excellent choices.

If th'art still around, there's a lovely Mozart Rondo for solo piano, slow, meditative, quiet, usually around 10 or 11 minutes long, vaguely minor key, but playing back and forth between major and minor...

Do you know which one I'm talking about?
