Edited on Thu May-20-04 12:28 PM by ButterflyBlood
alright, I could be going to Ohio in a few weeks. I might be getting a ride from someone who lives not too far away, but Mankato is pretty far off the route (away from the interstate). So I might just meet him in some city along the interstate. What type of place could I park my car in for a few days overnight? Most malls don't allow overnight parking.

1. A parking garage would be safest
But would also not be free.

2. Airports
If you are near a large airport, park it there. It's the safest place.

3. Options
Free:
Apartment complexes
Hotels
University campuses (in visitor spaces)

Charge:
Airport/rail/metro parking
Storage facility (will have to sign a month-to-month lease, but it's the most secure)

5. If your car gets towed from one of those free places
....you'll wind up paying for parking and a whole lot more!

4. Wal-Mart usually allows overnight parking, for RV's at least,
but security may be an issue.

Airport may be a little expensive, but it is secure.

I would look for a place where several cars for sale are parked. Usually they are secure; people leave cars there for weeks at a time. Put a "For Sale" sign on it, and it should be safe.

You might try putting a tow bar on the front and towing it to Ohio with you. Make sure to disconnect the drive shaft if you do.

Good Luck
