Three words: MOVIE TRADING COMPANY

I just took some VHS movies to the Movie Trading Company, and got 22 bucks for them.

I then purchased The Simpsons DVD, Season 3.

Do you have this service in your town?

I can't wait to go through the rest of these VHS movies.

I have about 500 of them.

1. Hey, shouldn't the VHS be tradeable for DVDs?

Considering that we've paid for the movies, shouldn't we be able to exchange them for DVDs of the same movie? Or at least as a major discount towards the DVD (since the DVDs *do* contain some additional original material)?

2. Well, I suppose they have to make money, too

I know you can trade a used DVD for a new DVD, and get a huge discount on the new DVD.
