I've laughed so much. Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Vickie Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner when combined with Carol are pure genius.

1. She ruined two movies for me!
I'll never be able to watch "Sunset Boulevard" and "Gone With The Wind" again.

14. LOL! Yes, indeed!
I'm glad I've never seen GWTW, so it's never tainted Carol's (I'm sure far more brillant) version. :-)

10. Don't forget the monster polyester lapels!
:-)

I miss those days. Her version of Bette Davis' "A Stolen Life" killed me(the twin sisters fighting over Glenn Ford in the original). With the lighthouse calling...."Hi PATTTTTTTsy!"

6. Watching it...they are still hilarious
and pure comedy. No profanity, talking about off color subjects, nothing for the shock value. Just pure comedy.

A good comediene doesn't have to use one word of profanity to be funny.

12. her show tonight was FAR better than anything on tv today . . .
I don't remember when I've laughed so consistently throughout an hour-long show . . . quality television is a thing of the past, with absurd "reality" programming replacing real creativity . . . thanks to Carol and crew for bringing back great tv, if only for an hour . . .

15. And it was LIVE, dammit!!
I loved it when Conway would get Korman laughing so much he (Korman) could hardly do his lines. Lots of time when a scene went into pause because everyone was laughing, usually because of Conway.

Dammit, that's good entertainment!

I loved Carol and her show.

19. that would get me every time
I used to think that Tim Conway was the funniest man alive. Shortly after that show, did he not do a sitcom? About an army or maybe a navy unit?

26. Seems like he did, but I don't remember the details
then his career moved down-wind, and he ended up doing the DORF stuff and then, poof, just kinda gone.

Too bad, really. He was quite funny. And actually, some of the Dorf stuff was pretty funny, but it got old quickly. First time I saw it was on Johnny Carson, and I rolled with laughter, then later saw ads for his videos during fishing shows and hee haw and whatnot, and figured, okay, poor guy has no real career left.

17. Her Group's Sketch Comedy Is As Good/Better Than MAD
Sometimes, when SNL is mentioned, somebody says MAD is better, but Carol's group holds up competitively with MAD. Sketch is sketch.

Back then, people dressed up to go to TV shows - men even wore jackets and ties. Not any more....

They were joined at the trunk and couldn't trumpet like other elephants - they just went "Snork!"

25. Im not a Tim Conway fan...that show, well...
..it was probably one of the best variety shows on.

It actually started in 1969 or 1970, and moved to Saturday nights in the early 70s I think.

It easily had some of the best sketch comedy ever..especially the movie spoofs and, yes, "As the Stomach Turns" and, later, "Mamas Family". Harvey Corman was outstanding, as was the rest of the cast. Tim Conway could also be good, although I really dont like his humor that much.
